Blackheath Bike and Kite Festival returned last weekend to fill the London sky with colour. Sadly, there wasn’t enough wind to keep a kite in the air for long (despite the best efforts of the professionals and a giant blue owl kite). But the glorious sunshine more than made up for it. We enjoyed the jaw-dropping displays from the MAD Team mountain bike crew, including a 6-foot drop from a Land Rover and hopping up a ladder en bike.
I defy anyone not to come home with a kite in some shape or form after browsing the many stalls at the festival. We struggled to choose between a monkey kite or a bear with a parachute (you can actually release it mid-air!) In the end, we went with a pocket kite, reasoning that it was the most portable, and a giant fish windsock because, well, who doesn’t need a giant fish windsock…
Blackheath Bike and Kite looks so much fun! Great pics too, Jenny. Hope you’re pleased with your giant fish windsock! :)
