What a great weekend and even the weather put on a show...

Amazing to see GB triathletes take advantage of home field advantage with both Helen Jenkins and Alistair Brownlee loving the fact that they finished on the podium (Bronze and Gold respectively). Alistair Brownlee was imperious and is lining up to be a favourite for gold in 2012 for sure. There were wins for GB Para-Triatheltes too.

Then it was the turn of me and 1,000 other amateurs to compete in the Olympic venue and enjoy the moment of glory running down the blue carpet finish past the (slightly emptier) grandstands! I'm never going to be competing in 2012 but it set the heart pumping a little faster (than it already was after over an hour's exertions) dreaming I was sprinting for gold!

The GB Basketball players and Modern Pentathletes weren't quite as successful but it was good to get close to the action in both of those sports too. Even though GB didn't win I managed to see a world record "trampoline slam dunk" at the O2 on Friday night! I'm now an expert at the finer arts of Modern Pentathlon too.

Hopefully the start of the 2012 build up so bring on more major events in the city and more GB success!
