Happy Chinese New Year!

In honour of the Year of the Tiger, this week we’re asking you for your favourite Chinese Restaurant in London.

Whether you love going to one of Alan Yau’s places for a treat (Hakkasan, Yauatcha, Cha Cha Moon), or have a favourite local budget option, or always frequent the same special place in Chinatown, this is the time of year to celebrate your love of Chinese food.

Let us know where you think the dim sum dazzles, the noodle soup has you salivating and where you can get a mean chow mein.

  1. Chris says:

Joy King Lau is the best chinese restaurant in town.

It’s not on the main strip of Gerrard Street but still in the same area.

Dishes are reasonably priced consistent quality – we’ve been going there for ten years now and the waitresses are also lovely!

Nothing at all to complain about!

  2. Jenny says:

My favourites are the Crispy Duck in Chinatown and Sichuan in Acton. Both great for tasty and reasonably priced Chinese food.

  3. londonlvyou says:

We like Little Lamb in Shaftesbury Avenue!

  4. Jo says:

I’ve enjoyed 2 unforgettable dinners at Hakkasan but for everyday dim sum it has to be Ping Pong…

  5. Richmond says:

I enjoy the Dim Sum at the new(ish) Shanghai Village Tea Rooms in Twickenham but my favourite, by far, has to be Ping Pong – always exceptional Dim Sum and atmosphere.

  6. Lilac says:

Crispy duck is excellent but Jack’s at Tufnell Park is A-OK as well!

  7. juju says:

I like Hakkasan! The food, the cocktails, the decor and the service are all superb. One for special occasions though as it’s so expensive.

  8. foamy says:

Crispy Duck — but make sure you go to the Wardour St one (now called Hing’s), and not the glitzier Gerrard St cousin! You can’t go past the king prawn crispy noodles, with a Tsingtao and some chilli oil on the side. Not recommended for a first date, however…

  9. Steve says:

Not one that a lot of people might of heard of unless they live in the area but the Favourite Inn in Woolwich is an oasis in the surrounding desert.
