Visit London Asks: What’s Your Favourite Department Store in London?

Congratulations to Selfridges which was named Best Department Store in the World last week, beating off competition from the likes of Bloomingdales in New York and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong.

The award was based on a number of important shopping criteria including customer service, outstanding in-store experience and strong financial performance.

So would Selfridges make it to the top of your London list and why? Does the huge cosmetics hall float your boat, or are you move of a Harrods devotee?

Do you like to peruse the exclusive food hall at Harvey Nichols. Or do you prefer John Lewis for the price guarantee?

Mine would have to be Harrods.

  2. Lettice says:

I can’t decide between John Lewis and Liberty, but I do know the mark of a good department store is a good haberdashery!

  3. Zoe J. Griffiths says:

Selfridges for buying fun things; John Lewis for buying sensible things; Liberty not for buying things, but for pretending you live in a film…

  4. Dan says:

Have to agree with the survey, Selfridges for the wide range of ‘interesting’ goods availible.

  5. juju says:

Liberty is the best. Great fashion collections, wonderful shoe (boot) boutique, compact but well stocked beauty hall, gorgeous objects for the home etc. I could spend all day and all of my wages there.

  6. Lilac says:

I love Selfridges, I wish I could shop there always! And eat sushi in the food court, and drink Champagne in the bar… sigh!

  7. Emma says:

John Lewis without fail. Am currently loving their range of British themed products.

  8. jose adams says:

    Definitely Selfridges.
