We all need an escape from reality every now and then and watching a classic film is the perfect antidote to the noise and over-excitement of world cup football.

Perhaps a season of films at the BFI based on books by goalkeepers? Albert Camus and Nabokov both kept goal and you could program Visconti: The Stranger and Kubrick: Lolita. Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl is a twofer – Che (in an appearance by Michael Palin) and Cleese were both goalkeepers!
