With the beautiful weekend weather, there weren’t many better places to be than sipping a cold drink in one of London’s great beer gardens.
There are so many to choose between. From the Edinboro Castle‘s huge beer garden in Camden, to the Avalon‘s pretty outdoor space with a fountain in Clapham. Or how about taking a break from shopping in Portobello at the Sun in Splendour‘s outdoor lounge?
Tell us where is London’s best beer garden?

My fave is The Junction Tavern at Tufnell Park
For me it’s got to be The Marlborough on Richmond Hill. It is a secret hideaway for all-year-round eating and drinking and comes alive in winter with Narnia-like atmosphere.

I’ve not tried it yet but The Edinboro Castle http://www.edinborocastlepub.co.uk/ looks very good! Otherwise.. The Garden Gate near Hampstead Heath.
It would have to be The Water Poet in Spitalfields; a huge enclosed patio garden with decked area and barn bar. Ideal for long, lazy summer lunches ….

Faltering fullback, finsbury park– great rood terrace, and the garden gate, hampstead!
Hey, I’m not English and a bit confused.. Is there any dif between a ‘beer garden’ and a ‘garden pub?’
Hi Brian
We’re not being too strict on our definition! Pubs with gardens, terraces, outdoor space – anywhere that’s nice to relax outside with a drink on a sunny day.
Jenny
Yep, Water Poet garden has it all – BBQ, beer, bar…. and sunny all day long.
