HMS Belfast is now even more interactive with the opening up of its operations room.
If climbing ladders, witnessing gruesome surgery and smelling what’s cooking in the ship’s kitchen weren’t exciting enough, you can now take control of the ship during an exciting naval salvage mission!
The brand new touch-screen game is based on a real-life exercise, Operation Pony, which HMS Belfast took part in during 1961.
The operations room was once the nerve centre of the ship and now you can also get close to all the machinery, knobs and flashing lights, which were previously cordoned off.
Entry to the operations room is included in the HMS Belfast admission fee, which also allows exploration of nine floors of the ship and the chance to find out about life aboard HMS Belfast. Kids get in free with a paying adult.
