Ever been sent a vital email or been tagged in an embarassing Facebook photo while waiting for the next tube train to arrive? You’ll soon be able to take direct action, as London’s underground stations are now being Wi-Fi enabled.
By the end of July you’ll be able to access the internet for free at around 80 stations thanks to the partnership between London Underground and Virgin Media. Oxford Circus, Stratford, Liverpool Street, Leicester Square and King’s Cross will be among the first to offer the service, and although the 80 stations are mainly in Zone 1 or near the Olympic Park, places like Heathrow will also be covered.
