The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe: Building The threesixty Theatre In Kensington Gardens

New theatre show The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe starts previews in Kensington Gardens tomorrow night. It looks like it’ll be a fantastic evening’s entertainment.

Ahead of their first night, here’s an amazing time-lapse video of the theatre being built.

Chinese Cuisine at Min Jiang in Kensington

If you fancy some Chinese cuisine which is slightly more authentic than the questionable takeaway over the road then head to Min Jiang in Kensington High Street.

Overlooking Kensington Gardens, on the tenth floor of the Royal Garden Hotel, this Chinese restaurant offers a menu of culinary delights with fabulous décor and service to match.

Walking into the restaurant, you’ll notice Chinese blue and white vases and eye-catching red walls lined with black and white photography. Panaramic windows show off the view over the gardens.

We sampled a few of the starter dishes including dim sum, crispy fried squid and cold drunken chicken. The highlight was the deliciously different crispy duck skin in fine granulated sugar.

For the main course, we couldn’t resist the chef’s special – wood-fired Beijing duck. This needs to be ordered in advance and the chef will even come over to your table to carve the duck in front of you.

This elegant restaurant comes highly recommended for Chinese cuisine at its very best.

Video of the Week: London, by ThreePoints

We love this video of London in springtime! Taken just a month ago, it shows the best of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens in London: the wildlife, blossoms, greenery, and the Serpentine in gorgeous spring sunshine.

Let’s hope the weather this weekend inspires you to head out and enjoy London’s famous parklife too.

Peter Pan Kensington Gardens

Peter Pan Kensington Gardens: Captain Hook

Sophie May (12) reports.

As we approached the huge, white tent in Kensington Gardens, little children excitedly fluttered about in fairy costumes. In fact, everyone seemed very excited about seeing Peter Pan.

The atmosphere inside the tent was magical. The actors were wonderful (especially Captain Hook) and the set design was brilliant. The beautiful, animated 360 degree projections on the inside of the tent made us feel as though we were right in the story – and the images changed every time the setting changed. It was truly awe-inspiring when Peter and his friends flew over London because it felt as though we were flying as well. There were delightful moments when the audience got involved and children tinkled their fairy bells, which was so lovely.

Everything about the play was enjoyable. I had a really great time and I think anyone of any age would love the show.
