While we’re looking forward to a feast of sport and culture in 2012, foodies are planning a series of intimate supper clubs during the London Olympic Games.
Visitors will be invited into Londoners’ homes, where they can enjoy meals prepared by keen amateur cooks, ranging from modern British to Chinese and Indian.
“It’s an opportunity for Olympic tourists to meet up with Londoners, break bread with them, see inside of a Londoner’s home, meet new people,” she explains.
Rodgers set up her living room restaurant in January 2009, inspired by the “paladare” home restaurants in Cuba. Since then, there has been an explosion of supper clubs in London.
Supper club prices range from £25 to £120 at more professional places like The Loft. The Underground Restaurant charges £40 per head for a four-course meal.
