We asked our Facebook followers which London film locations they’ve visited.

Harry Potter film locations such as King’s Cross Station (Platform 9 3/4) and Charing Cross Road (the Leaky Cauldron pub) were popular, as well as sites from romantic comedies Notting Hill (the Travel Bookshop) and Bridget Jones’s Diary (Borough Market).

We also found out that The May Fair hotel features in Matt Damon’s new film, Hereafter – catch it in cinemas now.

The sun shone on Notting Hill Carnival this weekend as more than a million revellers joined in the fun.

With the beautiful weekend weather, there weren’t many better places to be than sipping a cold drink in one of London’s great beer gardens.

There are so many to choose between. From the Edinboro Castle‘s huge beer garden in Camden, to the Avalon‘s pretty outdoor space with a fountain in Clapham. Or how about taking a break from shopping in Portobello at the Sun in Splendour‘s outdoor lounge?

Last weekend saw another successful Chap Olympiad as competitors umbrella-jousted their way to glory and spectators sipped Pimm’s from the comfort of a picnic blanket.

Everyone got into the spirit of chap, dressing up in style with tweed, vintage dresses, military wear and sailors aplenty!

We know that Londoners love to dress up, but what’s your favourite fancy dress event in London?

Whether it’s a shop squeezed into an unexpected location, or somewhere you love for the weirdness of the stock, let us know about London’s quirky shops.

A few of our favourites include Junky Styling (old clothes turned into funky new designs), James Smith & Son (beautiful, handmade umbrellas and walking sticks) and The Christmas Shop (keeping Christmas all year round and just a few minutes’ walk from VL Towers).

So far my favourite is the one outside Regis House (opposite Monument Station on the north bank of London Bridge), which is decorated with peacock feathers. There are also silver ones, floral ones and a red bumpy one with tiny elephants inside it (check out the video) dotted around More London.
