London Southend Airport launched yesterday, and they’ve been kind enough to send us video footage of the event. As well as the CEO of easyJet and the Secretary of State for Transport Justine Greening, champion Olympic medal-winning athlete and local Essex girl Sally Gunnell helped out at the launch.

easyJet is to operate 70 flights a week from Southend to nine destinations. The route will be great for people wanting to travel to Stratford for the Summer Games, as there’s a direct train from the newly launched airport to Stratford International.
