Honesty Shop in a Red Double-Decker Bus

A pop-up honesty shop opened in St Katharine Docks this week, inside a 50-year-old red double-decker bus.

The shop sells a variety of British-made crafts, including pet toys, gardening tools, kitchenware and knitwear. I particularly liked the soft woollen socks from Devon and the fluffy sheep toys.

Each item is priced but there’s no shopkeeper on-board. Customers are trusted to take an honesty envelope, place their money inside and post it in a traditional red post box inside the bus.

It’s all for a good cause as 10% of profits go to Compassion in World Farming, a charity that campaigns against cruel factory farming practices.

The Honesty Shop is in St Katharine Docks for three months. You can find out more at www.facebook.com/TheHonestyShop or www.twitter.com/honesty_shop.
